The official start of training camp hasn’t been announced yet, but the Jets and Browns will be starting earlier than everyone else since they’re playing each other in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 3. Camp would normally start around July 24, so I’d expect Jets camp to begin around July 17.
Maybe Rodgers at this point might consider showing up for the start of Packers camp to make things awkward and speed the trade talks along.On Aug. 7, 2008, the Jets officially traded for 39-year-old Packers quarterback Brett Favre. That night, the Jets were set to play the Browns, in Cleveland, for their preseason opener. So, the Jets flew Favre to Ohio and conducted his introductory news conference in a little room at the Browns’ stadium.
As mentioned, the Jets and Browns open the preseason against each other Aug. 3, nearly 15 years to the day of the Favre trade.10. September, or later Week 1 opens Sept. 7 , with the Sunday slate following Sept. 10. The schedule should be released sometime in May.
