Two of the three judges deemed Rwanda to be an unsafe place to send potentially vulnerable migrants to, with the ruling stating that the country’s system for deciding asylum claims was “inadequate”.
As a result, sending anyone to Rwanda would constitute a breach of article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights , which Parliament has required that the Government must comply, the ruling stated.Ms Braverman – who is more embedded in the right of the party than Mr Sunak – has been outspokenly critical of the ECHR in the past.
This court decision gives her an excuse to push for the UK to abandon the convention, which founded by Council of Europe members and behind the establishments of the European Court of Human Rights.Back in May, Mr Sunak used a Council of Europe Summit to call for reform of the
