Virgin Media have warned against a commonly made mistake many homeowners make which can wreak havoc with your internet speed.
While we all crave faster broadband, there could be a simple reason why some aren't achieving the speeds they desire. Virgin Media has recently shared some crucial Wi-Fi advice that's worth heeding, regardless of whether your broadband is provided by competitors such as BT, Sky or TalkTalk.
Gareth Lister, Virgin Media's O2 Director of Connectivity cautioned: "Don't switch your Hub off overnight." The issue of turning off the router appears to be more widespread than you might imagine. According to recent research from Virgin, approximately 18 percent of UK users admit to switching this off before hitting the hay.
But there's more to maintaining your connection than just keeping the power on. To ensure optimal Wi-Fi, position your router in an open space, well away from other electronics like baby monitors and phones.
