Almost half of voters say their view of the party has worsened since the general election
48 per cent of voters say their opinion of Labour has worsened since the General Election, with 20 per cent saying it has improvedNearly half of voters said they have a worse opinion of Labour since the party won July’s election with a landslide 174-majority, with just a fifth saying it had improved and a quarter saying it had not changed.
Similar numbers said they were unimpressed with Sir Keir’s leadership and thought Labour had broken their promises or would in future . “We are working on that. Until they are drawn up I decided to repay so that any future activities, of me or anybody else, are in accordance with whatever the new principles are.Mr Struthers added: “Half of the public tells us their view of the Labour Party has worsened since the general election. This sentiment isn’t just coming from those who would never vote Labour—it includes a third of those who cast their ballot for Labour just a few months ago.
“Fortunes can change quickly, and it remains early days, but Starmer no longer looks like someone closer to an electoral asset, much more of a liability. The winter fuel allowance is an annual tax-free payment worth between £200 and £300 which is designed to help pensioners cover their heating bills.
