Two young men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving
An eyewitness to the fatal car crash in Withington on Friday , which claimed the life of a 22-year-old female pedestrian, has praised the 'heroic' efforts of two people who rushed to her aid.
Moments later, two people that looked like NHS staff to Emily "stopped pretty quickly." Immediately administering first aid, Emily's husband Steve said they had done "an epic job trying to save her life." Today Greater Manchester Police issued a statement confirming that the 22-year-old woman had died following the crash and that they were appealing for further information from members of the public to help their investigation. People of a similar age walking down the road expressed sadness and shock that someone had been hit on the "busy" road.
Withington councillor Chris Wills described the crash as "horrific" and said: "My thoughts are with the woman's loved ones."
