A woman was arrested after police found a hand grenade and a firearm during a raid on a flat in Oldham .
The bomb disposal unit was pictured at the scene in Chadderton, while a witness said investigators in hazmat suits were also seen entering the flat on Parkway. It came after police executed a warrant at the property on Friday afternoon. The 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of offensive weapons in a private dwelling.The weapons were seized and removed from the scene. Army explosive experts later disassembled the grenade and found it wasn't live.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "A warrant was executed at an address on Parkway in Chadderton at 3pm on Friday. A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of offensive weapons in a private dwelling. "The firearm and grenade were removed from the scene and taken to custody. Explosive ordnance disposal attended and they examined the grenade and disassembled it. It proved not to be live."
