Woman faces possible leg amputation after fall on 'notoriously dangerous' sidewalk in Queen Anne.
A King County jury ruled Thursday that the City of Seattle , and an apartment owner must pay a woman $13.1 million in damages after a fall.
A lawsuit was filed in King County Superior Court on May 27, 2022, for the injuries Mettler Auld had sustained. Mettler Auld’s attorneys said the possible amputation is because of a failed procedure to reattach the ruptured muscle. They also said other residents in the Queen Anne neighborhood testified in court that they’d also fallen on the 1300 block of West Dravus. Residents blame the hidden algae that dates back as far as a decade.
The trial for this case began in May 2024 and the jury deliberated for three days before rendering a verdict. The jury found the City of Seattle 48% liable and 14th & Dravus LLC 52% liable.
