Daphne Austin received no medical input on the first day of the strike in 2023, a report says.
A coroner has concluded a woman's death was "more likely than not" the result of neglect during the junior doctors' strike.
Writing in a Prevention of Future Deaths Report, Cumbria coroner Robert Cohen said vital blood testing was not carried out after Ms Austin developed an acute kidney injury, which was probably down to a lack of planning for the industrial action. The report stated Ms Austin's glucose levels were poorly controlled and she became dehydrated as her fluid balance was "not monitored in an effective manner".
Mr Cohen raised concerns the "planning that seeks to ensure safe levels of cover during periods of industrial action was insufficient".
