A woman was rushed to hospital after being rescued from a river. Firefighters were called to the River Beal in Milnrow, Rochdale, earlier tonight to reports that the woman had 'fallen into the water'.
The nature of the woman's injuries have not been disclosed, but it is understood that she was conscious and breathing before being taken to hospital. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 8:15pm this evening , firefighters were called to reports of a person in the water at the River Beal in Milnrow."Two fire engines from Rochdale fire station, the water incident unit from Heywood and the technical response unit from Ashton fire stations quickly arrived at the scene, where one woman had fallen into the river.
