A woman has suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a Mazda car in Huyton this morning. Emergency services responded to reports of the crash at the junction of Liverpool Road and Hillside Road around 4:40 am on Thursday, January 16th. The pedestrian was treated at the scene for her significant injuries. A large police cordon has been established, closing Liverpool Road in both directions from Blue Bell Lane to the M57, as Merseyside Police conduct their investigation.

The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries. Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson released a statement urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. He said: 'As a matter of urgency, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or was passing by at the time and may have captured anything on dashcam or other devices. Road closures will remain in place for a significant time as officers carry out the initial stages of this investigation. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
