The company says it finalised 36 investigations into improper workplace behaviour in 2022, while allegations of misconduct more than doubled.

Woodside Energy axed a dozen employees last year for misconduct, and allegations of misconduct – including sexual harassment and bullying – more than doubled, the company said on Monday.

Workplace culture in sectors traditionally dominated by men has been in the spotlight recently, and companies, including Woodside, are under pressure to demonstrate their commitment to their female workforce. Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill: the company’s annual report revealed the company has removed 12 employees following complaints of improper conduct.In its annual report released on Monday, Woodside said it finalised 36 investigations into improper workplace behaviour between the end of 2021 and December 31. Woodside said the investigations found misconduct in 24 cases, and 12 employees and contractors were removed.

Woodside said seven of those removed were for sexual harassment, five for bullying and three for so-called conflicts of interest.acquisition of BHP PetroleumAs of December 31, Woodside had 4427 workers, up from 3764 a year earlier. Woodside said the number of female workers in the past 12 months grew to be 35 per cent of its total workforce.
