There are now police dispersal zones all over the city
Another Dispersal Zone has been put in place in Liverpool tonight, this one on Woolton , as police try to make sure everyone stays safe during the Halloween and Bonfire period. The Dispersal order is in place at the following locations for 48 hours between 8.30pm today and 8.30pm on Friday 1 November: Boundaries of the zone are the junction of Quarry Street and Beaconsfield Road onto Woolton Hill Road. Woolton Hill Road onto Acrefield Road. Acrefield Road onto Out Lane onto Kings Drive.
The Dispersal Zone is under Section 34/35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour & Policing Act 2014, which gives police officers the powers to direct people engaging in anti-social behaviour or are likely to become involved in such incidents and not return for up to 48 hours. Officers also have the power to seize items used for anti-social behaviour. Other dispersal zones have been introduced in Sefton , in south Liverpool , in Speke and in the city centre .
