Almost £3.5m of central government funding has been spent on Colne's three theatres

Work costing hundreds of thousands of pounds has started on the last of the three Colne theatres. It comes after a total of £3,487,000 of Levelling Up Fund cash had been been awarded to the three theatres – The Muni Theatre, Pendle Hippodrome and the Little Theatre.

The work is already taking shape and is expected to take 15 weeks to complete, with an expected end date of just before Christmas. Councillor Asjad Mahmood, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “The impact of the Levelling Up funding will result in upgraded theatres for local residents and visitors to enjoy.“All three theatres are such important assets for Colne and this major investment will really give the town a boost and attract even more people to Pendle.
