A Worksop thief who targeted businesses including a charity shop has been jailed after a locked till was found in his flat. Nottinghamshire Police says Daniel Moore, 31, stole cash and electrical items from multiple businesses around Worksop town centre. The locked till, taken during these break-ins, was found in Moore's flat on Gateford Road. Neighbourhood officers had tracked down and arrested Moore before discovering the till.
The thief's identity was confirmed by CCTV footage and he was also found in possession of clothing worn during the break-ins. Moore pleaded guilty to burglary and attempted burglary when appearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday (February 3) and he has now been jailed for 12 months. Sergeant Mark Talbot of the Worksop North Neighbourhood Policing team said: 'Moore's arrest and subsequent conviction is a significant result for the local community. We understand the impact that crimes like these have on hardworking business owners and their staff, and we are committed to bringing offenders to justice.
