The Creola Fire Department describes the response site as a 'long term scene.'
An early-morning accident with multiple fatalities closed northbound I-65 north of Mobile for much of the day on Monday. An unrelated incident involving commercial vehicles further north caused a separate lane closure on the interstate.
Shortly afterward, an update from ALEA said that northbound I-65 would remain closed until further notice. The location is several miles south of the high-rise bridge at the edge of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, so the closure meant a substantial detour for northbound traffic. In a separate incident in Escambia County, ALEA reported that a crash involving two commercial vehicles had taken place at about 7:55 a.m. near I-65 mile marker 58. that resulted in the closure of a single lane.
