More than five years since his sire lit up the juvenile scene as a leading sprinter, debutant three-year-old Written Silk looks ready to take his own first steps.
Having settled a long way back and covering ground, Written Silk trucked home under a nice hold, making up many lengths from the 300m, and still had something in reserve. Back in the summer of 2018 as a two-year-old, Written By exploded away to win the group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield after claiming a pair of group 3 wins in the lead-up.Now, his latest gelded son Written Silk, who is out of a Snitzel mare, debuts for the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou yard.In what looms as a typical early prep provincial raid by metropolitan trainers, the depth of this clash could well be a feast for form analysts down the track.
