The XL Bully-type dog was put down after emergency services rushed to the incident on a Coatbridge street to help with restraining the animal.
The incident happened at around 3.40pm yesterday with emergency services rushing to the scene on Broughton Place shortly after to help with restraining the dog.A 30-year-old woman has also been charged following the incident in relation to the Dangerous Dogs Act. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.40pm on Thursday, 7 March, 2024, officers attended outside a property in Broughton Place, Coatbridge, after being called to assist with restraining an XL Bully-type dog.“A 30-year-old woman has been charged with an offence relating to the Dangerous Dogs Act and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
