The Liberal leader was joined by his colleague Dan Tehan, the shadow immigration minister, who suggested previous lapses in security vetting had led to the“We do not want to see that happen again, and we will ask questions,” Tehan said. “We will demand answers and we will keep going on this until we get reassurances from the prime minister that he will take this seriously.”

The Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young said Dutton was not just playing “dog-whistling politics. He’s blowing the foghorn.”
