More than 12,000 runners will be hitting the streets of Nottingham this Sunday as the Robin Hood Half Marathon and Mini Marathon returns to the city. Registration has officially closed for the 2024 event, which will see a record-breaking 12,500 runners participating in the event on Sunday, September 29.
Runners are encouraged to arrive early for a seamless race day experience, and it is expected that both the race village and course will be bustling with an electric atmosphere. After the success of the 2023 race, organisers Goldline Events have confirmed that the 2024 event will follow the same route.
This includes the race starting and finishing at the Victoria Embankment Recreation Ground. The final preparations are now underway with the course being laid out and the race village being assembled. This year's event has also seen a significant number of first-time runners sign up, and it is expected that the influx of visitors to the city will help boost the local economy. Race Director Judith Manson expressed her excitement, saying: "The response this year has been phenomenal. The improvements and changes we've made over recent years have been welcomed by runners, and we’ve surpassed all the goals we set for this iconic race.
"We’re excited to deliver a race day that Nottingham deserves, cementing its status as a premier running event for both local, national and international runners. It’s your great city and your great race. Come and join us on the day "
