Craig Melvin is set to become the co-anchor of the TODAY show, replacing Hoda Kotb. Melvin will begin his new role on Monday, January 13, 2025, alongside Savannah Guthrie. He will co-anchor the 7 and 8 a.m. hours of the show.While Melvin will take over Hoda's role for the first two hours, he will not be the co-host of the fourth hour.
Instead, TODAY with Jenna & Friends, hosted by Jenna Bush Hager, will premiere on January 13, with the week starting January 20 featuring Melvin and Guthrie as co-anchors.Melvin has been a familiar face on TODAY since 2018 as a co-host of the third hour and as a news anchor for NBC's owned-and-operated station in Washington, D.C. He previously worked at WIS News 10 in South Carolina. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, thanking God and his family for their support. His colleagues showered him with praise and congratulations on his promotion, with Hoda Kotb saying, 'You were literally made for this job. You have all the things that this job needs. You're the right person for it.'
