Grant made £24,500 from the scam as his brother and others sold bottles on at a variety of auction houses - even including the one he'd stolen them from. "He is a single man who kept it to himself and had no support. He appreciates the breach of trust, and what makes it worse was that he got friends and family involved.
"He has sought assistance with the gambling difficulties he has had. He understands he will have to continue to seek help. He attends Gamblers Anonymous on a weekly basis. Fiscal depute Stephanie Paterson said: "Between January and 22 December 2021 he was employed as Head of Operations. The company sells bottles of rare and collectable whisky.
