Black Library is hosting its annual writing competition, offering a chance for writers to contribute to the Warhammer universe. Participants must submit a 500-word scene featuring the interaction of two iconic Warhammer characters.
Black Library, the esteemed publisher of Warhammer novels, is once again offering aspiring authors a chance to make their mark on the grim dark universe. This year's Black Library Writing Competition invites writers to submit a 500-word scene featuring the interaction of two iconic Warhammer characters. This competition presents a unique opportunity for anyone with a knack for storytelling, regardless of their previous experience or portfolio.
The theme for this year's competition centers around the meeting of two legendary figures from either Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, both of whom have graced the tabletop as miniature models. Participants are free to explore a range of interactions, from tense dialogues and epic battles to unexpected encounters. The chosen scene must take place in one of the specified locations, limited to Vigilus, Commorragh, or Armageddon for Warhammer 40,000, and Hammerhal Aqsha, the Eightpoints, or Shadespire for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. While the settings offer diverse backdrops, writers are cautioned against crossovers between the two universes, as the competition demands adherence to their respective canons. The competition officially opens on February 22nd and closes on March 9th, with details regarding submission guidelines and judging criteria to be released soon.
