Councillor Tracy Kelly stated that residents are being evacuated as a precaution and the PSNI is prioritizing the safety of the public. The Olympia Leisure Centre has been designated as an emergency support centre for those affected. Traffic is building up in the vicinity of Donegall Avenue and Donegall Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area. The GVRT, aware of the suspected device and the disruption it's causing, has opened unit 5 in the Richview Regeneration Centre as a haven for residents. They encourage anyone who knows affected residents or neighbours to inform them about the available support. Councillor Gary McKeown expressed his concern about the security alert and offered his thoughts to those who have been evacuated, acknowledging the unsettling nature of the situation.
