In an emotional post on Instagram on December 31, Brooke said: 'New Year. I feel so heavy today!! Normally I would be putting up all of the good things that have happened over the year, all of the challenges I’ve overcome and the things I’m proud to say I’ve done, special memories that have been made, only this year all of those highs don’t even come close to the constant feeling of pain I’ve felt since losing my Nana. 'All of my New Year Memories growing up include you, Gran Canaria your favourite place with all our favourite people. I would cry every year for as long as I can remember at the overwhelming emotion of bringing in the new year being lucky enough to have both you and grandad by my side. I just hope wherever you are when the clock strikes 12 you know how much I love you. I huge part of my heart broke October 5th 2024.'
