The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a triple homicide investigation after shots rang out over the weekend.

The ECSO on Monday identified the victims as Markeese Turner, 26, Michael Carstarphen, 28, and Trashawn Powers, 23. The agency said that at 1:15 a.m. Sunday it received a shots fired call from an adult birthday party in the area of 65th Avenue and Jackson Street. That’s where deputies discovered that the three men had been shot while inside a vehicle parked in a lot alongside 65th Avenue.“This is a terrible tragedy that we are investigating as a targeted ambush”, said Sheriff Chip Simmons.
The sheriff’s office said that all available investigators were called in and the Real Time Crime Center was activated. Investigators are asking anyone who attended the party to review any videos or photos and to provide any useful information to ECSO investigators. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 850-433-STOP or the ECSO at 850-436-9620.
