77-year-old Canada man Ellis Kingsep allegedly stole $420,000 in social security benefits using the scheme.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An international mail fraud scheme making its way through federal courts reportedly had a focal point in Fairbanks.According to court documents, 77-year-old Canadian man Ellis Kingsep — also known as Ellis King — stole more than $420,000 of his mother’s social security benefits in a roughly 30-year scheme.
There, a forwarding service would allegedly receive his mother’s mail, repackage it in his name, and send it to Canada, then onto Los Angeles, where Kingsep was living.
