BBC Breakfast was back on Saturday morning with Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty at the helm, however things took an awkward turn
A BBC Breakfast host found themselves in a spot of bother after letting slip a cheeky remark they soon wished to take back.
In this particular episode, they invited Michelle Wright, head of care at Zoe's Place in Liverpool, to talk about the extraordinary support the hospice provides. The charity, dedicates itself to under-fives with serious or terminal illnesses. Joining Michelle was Amanda and her daughter Esme, who have both benefited from the charity's support. Things got a tad uncomfortable when Charlie seemed to take a light-hearted swipe at his own programme.
Charlie couldn't resist joking: "She won't be the first person who has slept through an entire chunk of BBC Breakfast." The guests shared a laugh as Naga added: "Nor the last." Quickly realising his faux pas, Charlie retracted, conceding: "Am I allowed to say that? Oh no, I shouldn't say that."
