The founders of Beeston Brownie have revealed they are to open a shop - in the town the company is named after. A post on Facebook announcing: "Exciting news! Today we have collected the key for our first Beeston Brownie shop," sent hundreds of fans into a spin.
Vic and Paula Roberts run the business that started in April 2016. The first brownies were sold on a market stall in Nottingham's Trinity Square. Since then the sweet treats have been a regular sight around the county. At first the business was a part-time venture for Vic, who back then had a full-time job. The exact location of the new shop hasn't been revealed.The short post on social media, with a photo of the key to the new premises, has had hundreds of likes and comments congratulating them. One woman wrote: "Well this is the best news I've seen this week!" Another responded: "Fab news and well deserved, amazing brownies and blondies nom nom nom.
The company can be found at Beeston Market on Wednesdays and Ruddington Village Market on the first Saturday of the month. The brownies and white chocolate blondies are also stocked at cafes including Ugly Bread Bakery in Hockley, Attenborough Nature Reserve, Alice's Tea Shop in Keyworth and all the cafes at Wollaton Park.
The delectable flavours include salted caramel, lemon meringue, raspberry and peanut butter. Vegan and gluten-free versions are available too.
