Hannah Constance's design was inspired by local nature and wildlife
Hannah Constance's mural on Kings Crescent in the Fernagh estate area of Newtownabbey is bringing some love to a gable wall often adorned with negative messages about the area.
Speaking to Belfast Live at her new mural in the Fernagh estate, Hannah said: "I went to the University of Lancaster to do fine art, but I actually stopped painting for about seven or eight years, and it wasn't until covid happened I started back up again. I started painting walls and going out into Belfast as I was bored and there was nothing else going on, and nobody about.
"They had this lovely little brief about Newtownabbey and Whiteabbey, and my inspiration was a meadow not too far from here, the mural has a garden scene in it with lots of wildflowers and beautiful lilacs. I then have a little wren on it, as it's one of the smallest birds in Ireland, and Newtownabbey is seen as being a small part of Greater Belfast.
