Workers from a nearby business were evacuated following the discovery with a police cordon in place. The Explosive Ordnance Department (EOD) has been 'made aware' of the incident.
The incident was reported at around 9.05am this morning when the device was found in an industrial estate near the Malcolm factory on Burnbrae Drive in the Renfrewshire town.
Workers have been evacuated by emergency services with a cordon in place around the area. It is not yet clear which local business is affected. "As a precaution, a cordon has been placed around the area and one local business has been evacuated. "The EOD - Explosive Ordnance Department - has been made aware.
