The victim was confronted on his doorstep on Chapelgate in Retford by the two men
Two men have been jailed after punching and kicking a man while trying to steal a camera and some protein powder from him. The pair ended up empty-handed when the camera dropped to the floor during fighting on the morning of April 14 last year.
The victim had just returned home from dropping his partner off at work when the two men confronted him on his doorstep. After leaving Chapelgate in Retford, both men were eventually tracked down and arrested - with both assaulting a police officer in the process. Josh Ellis, 28, of Water Lane in Retford, and Joshua Thornhill, 28, of West Hill Road in Retford, have now pleaded guilty to burglary, assault by beating and assaulting an emergency worker. Ellis was jailed for 18 months and Thornhill for 15 months when both appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday .
"Local response officers – assisted by a council CCTV operator – then did an excellent job of tracking down and detaining both suspects. I am pleased they have now been jailed and hope this result provides the victim in this case with some comfort."
