Margaret Cochrane was saved by a Burnside Car Store worker after she ran out of petrol en route to visit her husband in hospital.
A Cambuslang pensioner was left stranded on her way to visit her husband at Hairmyres Hospital , but a good Samaritan from Burnside Car Store swooped in to save the day in a rather luxurious fashion.

However, in the rush to get her hair done by a last-minute appointment with her hairdresser, she forgot to stop for petrol.
“I told him that I am an old woman in distress and what had happened, but they weren’t allowed to give out a can of petrol due to their insurance,” Margaret explained.
