Pupils may only just be heading back to school after the summer holidays, but looking forward to October half term is already on the radar for some families.
Families can prepare to be spellbound and release their inner Harry Potter as the Hoghton Tower School of Witchcraft and Wizardry comes the the enchanting landmark, just as Halloween looms.The hilltop tower near Preston, which offers amazing views across Lancashire, is the ideal place to host a weird and wonderful wizardry workshops with more than a thousand years of tumultuous British history.
It is also a popular location for filming some smash-hit TV shows, such as Sherlock Holmes, Life on Mars and Peaky Blinders. It is set in acres of beautiful grounds and three magical walled gardens - Rose, Ramparts and Wilderness.
