Only barley and wine have been hit by tariffs, which China said was in response to dumping. Other commodities have suffered from unofficial bans. Senator Farrell said he hoped to travel to Beijing in the next few weeks to put the case to allow the resumption of exports of other commodities, and was open to allowing Chinese food inspectors come here.“There are different regulatory issues that we have to deal with in different sectors, so we just have to work through them patiently and persistently,” he said.
