Temporary stops will be used by services usually calling at the Bulwell Bus Station
Bulwell's bus station will temporarily close for works to take place at the site less than a year after a major revamp. Nottingham City Transport says temporary bus stops will be used during the closure, lasting from April 2 until April 5.
Outlining the reason for the closure, NCT said: "This is to allow Nottingham City Council to undertake some surfacing works, as well as sorting out other snagging issues. Buses which normally use Bulwell Bus Station won’t have any changes to their timetables, but will use temporary stops." Passengers also had to use temporary stops last year, when the station was closed from January until May for a major revamp. Work, funded by the Department of Transport, included new shelters and canopies, new benches and improved walkways. Around a month after reopening to the public, NCT described the station as being beset by anti-social behaviour issues.
A number of NCT buses stop at Bulwell Bus Station, near Main Street, including the brown line, 17, the orange line, 35, the yellow line 70 and the light blue line, 79. Below are the temporary stops that each service will use during the Bulwell Bus Station Closure:

Nottingham City Transport to Increase Bus FaresNottingham City Transport is putting up some of its bus fares as the operator continues to face rising costs. NCT has just carried out an annual review of its fares and price changes will be coming in from Sunday, March 31. The changes include an increase to under-19 tickets and to adult day tickets in the city zone. NCT says the average increase in fares is 4.2%, but that the Government-funded £2 cap on a single fare will remain. David Astill, NCT's managing director, said: "We have worked hard to devise a fares increase for 2024 which has the minimum impact on our customers. We are pleased to confirm that our weekly and monthly Easyrider prices are frozen which is great news for Nottingham’s regular bus users." Is the government doing enough to help with the cost of living? Let us know here Graham Chapman, the chair of NCT, said: "Many bus companies throughout the UK are struggling and routes are being cut. In Nottingham, we have one of the best services in the country. We do not want to put fares up but in order to maintain the quality of service Nottingham is used to, we need some increase. I hope people will appreciate that many fares have been frozen." It comes after NCT recently announced several changes to its services, details of which can be found here
