Emergency services raced to Calder Crescent in the Bankhead area after the alarm was raised at around 10.30pm on Sunday.

A man has been charged after "a cooker" was allegedly thrown from the 11th floor of a set of flats in Edinburgh .

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that a cooker was launched from the flat. A picture taken from the scene showed items including cushions and debris strewn outside the building while two police officers stood guard. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.35pm on Sunday, August 4 2024 police received reports of items being thrown out of a window at a flat in Dunsyre House, Calder Crescent, Edinburgh.

"He was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, August 5 and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
