Dee-Dee didn't believe this version of events leaving Swain and Kit Green to keep on digging. However, Swain ended up being taken off the case after Kit found text messages between Joel and her daughter, in which he threatened to kill her. But Kit was later seen calling back at the hospital and told Lauren that the post-mortem revealed that Joel was dead before he entered the river, so they’re now looking at a murder investigation. He went on to question Lauren about where she was on the night of Joel’s death, the 27th of September, while Dee-Dee let her dad and uncle, Ed and Ronnie Bailey, know that Joel was murdered before an exchange which seemingly implemented them in Joel's death.
