Millions of people will automatically receive a bonus from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in a couple of weeks' time
Millions of state pensioners are set to receive a Christmas cash bonus this winter, despite the removal of their £300 Winter Fuel Payment. Although the Winter Fuel Payment, ranging from £200 to £300, has been withdrawn for millions of pensioners, a small consolation remains in the form of a bonus payment that's been distributed to all pensioners since the 1970s and will continue this winter.
The bonus was introduced in 1972 to help cover additional Christmas-related costs. Importantly, the money doesn't affect your eligibility for other benefits - so, for instance, the £10 won't be considered as income when determining whether you'll receive Pension Credit.
