Here's how to check if you're eligible to apply for the loan
The Department for Work and Pensions is offering an additional £812 to benefits claimants, on top of their regular payments. This comes in the form of a Budgeting Loan, which aims to provide financial relief for those struggling with necessary expenses.
The loans are deposited into the same account as your benefit, but if you prefer a different account, you can change the account your benefit is paid into before applying. A Budgeting Loan is interest-free, meaning you only repay what you borrow, with repayments automatically deducted from your benefits.
Typically, the loan must be repaid within 2 years , reports Yorkshire Live. If your benefits come to an end, you'll receive a letter from the DWP Debt Management explaining how to repay any outstanding benefit money.
