Prepare to dust off the deck chairs - it's going to be a sunny one
The UK will be hit with one final blast of summer heat before autumn kicks in, forecasters say, as temperatures look set to hit 25C. After a recent sustained period of cooler temperatures, peaking at around 16-18C daily, warmth and sunshine are likely to grace the country on Friday, September 6.
While the day will start with a bit of cloudy coverage, the sky should be completely blue by 9am when temperatures hit a nice 19C. The mercury will then climb to 21C at 10am, 22C at 11am, 23C at 12am and will hit a toasty 24/25C at 1pm, remaining at that level until the early evening. There'll be a slight breeze, with south-westerly wind speeds of 12-14mph throughout the day, but these will slow by the evening. Sadly, the European-style summer's day will not be replicated throughout the weekend.
