With ice forming on untreated surfaces, there is a risk of slips and falls and some transport disruption from Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning, the Met Office has warned.
Temperatures will drop and icy roads are set to batter the city as the Met Office issues a warning for Glasgow .
A yellow warning for ice is in place from 9pm on Tuesday, December 3, up until 10am on Wednesday. It also covers North and South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and Dunbartonshire. With ice forming on untreated surfaces, there is a risk of slips and falls and some transport disruption, the Met Office has warned. Pavements and cycle paths may be slippery as a result of the Arctic conditions.The Met Office said: "A band of rain and snow will move east across Scotland this afternoon and evening .
"Once this clears temperatures will quickly fall during Tuesday evening and ice is likely to form readily on untreated surface during the evening and overnight into Wednesday morning." This evening's forecast for Glasgow reads: "Outbreaks of rain and hill snow during this evening, any snow mostly over Argyll. Becoming mainly dry with clearing skies overnight with a frost possible along with icy patches.
