A tragic collision on the A90 highway in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, has claimed the life of a 62-year-old male passenger. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to the scene near Laurencekirk at approximately 10:20 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The accident involved a silver Mercedes Vito van and a grey Mercedes HGV lorry. Sadly, the van's passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 43-year-old male driver of the van sustained injuries and was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The 52-year-old male driver of the HGV was transported to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The current conditions of both drivers are unknown. Following the incident, the A90 road was closed for an extensive period of approximately 12 hours to facilitate a thorough investigation. Road Policing Sergeant David Cooper expressed condolences to the deceased's family and urged anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward and share information. Sergeant Cooper also requested drivers to check their dash-cam footage for any potential evidence that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
