Storm Darragh is causing havoc across the region
The Ormskirk to Hunts Cross line was hit by cancellations this morning due to debris calling on the tracks between Liverpool Central and Brunswick. Insulation had blown onto the tracks and caught fire causing delays and terminations with limited rail replacement bus services been put on. Network Rail has now cleared the debris with trains now running.
The weather warning was upgraded from yellow to amber from 1am today until 9pm tonight as Storm Darragh moves from west to east . The amber weather warning covers all of Merseyside, including Liverpool, Wirral , Sefton , Knowsley and St Helens . Gusts of 60mph to 70mph are predicted for the region, with the strongest winds predicted for the afternoon. The Met Office issued advice on its website ahead of the unprecedented weather.
