The incident occurred on Castle Street in Tyldesley around 6.20pm on Wednesday . Three fire engines were called to the scene, close to the junction with Shuttle Street.

It is not known whether anyone was injured in the blaze, the M.E.N reports. In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 6.20pm , fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a commercial building on Castle Street in Tyldesley. Three fire engines from Atherton, Farnworth and Leigh quickly attended the scene.
