The Jimmy Johnstone Academy has faced backlash after they had their proposals for a fence around Cathkin Park approved.
Plans to erect a fence around the 'second Hampden Park' by a youth football club have sparked controversy as they look to preserve Scottish sporting history for the next generation.

The installation of a Heras fence, replete with 'stay out' signage, has provoked a strong outcry amongst campaigners as the verbal duel on how to best save the Second Hampden for coming generations continues. Meanwhile, Friends of Cathkin Park assert that they have legal advice claiming that the planning permit is against the Land Reform Act 2003's 'right to roam'.
“We've got the money to get the fence done and to get the pitch up to a standard where we can host Youth Cup finals, et cetera, which is not being done on a high-quality grass park anywhere else in Glasgow.
