The Foreign Office has issued a warning to people who are sending their children on a plane to Spain

If your child is heading to Spain this summer, or any time in fact, there are a few rules that they - and you - will need to adhere to. On the Foreign Office website, it warns that some people under a certain age are classed as minors, which could disrupt travel plans. Under their 'u naccompanied minors' section, the government officials explain that Spanish law considers anyone that is aged 17 and under to be a minor. Because of this, they need to travel with an adult.

It explained: 'If an unaccompanied minor comes to the attention of the Spanish authorities , they will be considered vulnerable and may be taken to a minor’s centre until a parent or guardian is found.' Before you leave to the airport, you must also be aware of the latest passport rules. Spain follows Schengen area rules.
