A blanket of freezing fog will continue to cover Glasgow overnight and could lead to disruption going into Wednesday morning.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for fog which is in place until 11am Wednesday . Alongside the city, the alert also covers North and South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Dunbartonshire. Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths increase the risk of accidents.A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Freezing fog has persisted all day for some, and will probably turn thicker this evening and overnight, with some untreated surfaces becoming slippery. Once formed, it may well persist well through Wednesday.
"Areas of freezing fog will continue to make travel conditions rather difficult overnight and Wednesday morning."
