A friend of Katie Baxter, a woman murdered by serial killer Mark Martin in 2005, has criticized a planned Halloween event near the site where she died. Marcus McKenzie, who knew Baxter before her death, believes the event is disrespectful to those who lost their lives at the Great Northern Warehouse.
The friend of a woman murdered by Nottingham serial killer Mark Martin has slammed a planned Halloween event at the site where she died as "disrespectful." Katie Baxter was found in February 2005 at the Great Northern Warehouse off London Road in Nottingham , where she had been killed by Martin.
Damaged by fire in 1998, few ventured there until 2004 when Martin set up a tent on land near the warehouses. The upcoming 'Outbreak Nottingham Scarefest' will be held at the James Alexander Warehouse, adjacent to the Great Northern Warehouse. The 41-year-old said: "If they knocked the warehouses down and totally redeveloped the site, then I wouldn't have a problem with whatever they do. While those buildings are still there, it feels as though it's disrespecting the dead.
