The Sunday Times' nursery league table has found that the city has the highest number of schools rated “excellent” with 101, with Edinburgh coming second with 94.

Glasgow nurseries have been ranked among the best in Scotland despite concerns raised over a decline in the quality of childcare across the country.

However, concerns have been raised over a decline in the quality of childcare across the country after the care regulator failed to award any nurseries full marks despite 600 inspections taking place. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the number of top performing nurseries in Scotland reached double figures every year, peaking at 36 in 2016.
