Callum's parents submitted a placing request in November of last year
A family from Glasgow are preparing to homeschool their autistic son after their request to place him in a nearby school was rejected by Glasgow City Council.
The worried couple fear they may have to take their son out of the school system completely as the school allocated to Callum is over an hour away at St Mungo's Academy. "Callum was diagnosed with autism when he was three so he needs special requirements to ensure that he gets to school safely. We attended the appeal process and they got back to us and said the appeal has been refused.
The mum said: "Callum is a flight risk, which means that if he becomes triggered he has a tendency to run. Allana is now putting plans in place to educate her son at home, however, the move could have a massive affect on the family's lives.
